Definitive Quaife Lsd Thread

OK here ya go guys, I have part numbers for the extra parts needed for this install.
Hyundai OEM bearings(2) Part#43329-28050, and shims Part#45834-22100:
The shims may not be necessary as they are only needed if there is some endplay present when installing the Quaife. My install required no shims. It is possible to reuse your stock Hyundai bearings from the stock diff being removed but most likely will get damaged when trying to remove them. It is best to play it safe and just put new ones in.
Mitsu Speedo gear Part#MD717879:
The speedo gear you press onto the smaller end of the Quaife, we just used a brass mallet and tapped it on. Heating the gear a bit before tapping it on speeds up the process. The mitsu gear mates up great with the tranny!
EDIT
Shims: $43.00 CAD
Bearings: $49.50 CAD each
Mitsu gear: Approx $35 CAD

Vehicle: 2001 Hyundai Tiburon
awesome. any idea on prices for the oem parts? i think i may just try and pick that stuff up first and start saving.
And the lifetime warranty, no reason it wouldnt apply right? I looked it up. Just dont tell them you put it on a Tiburon and youll be fine i think

I can't see warranty being a problem. They warranty them even if they are used in race applications. There are alot more mitsus out there putting down huge power than there are Hyundais. I guess if they really wanted to be pricks they could technically refuse a claim.

I just checked the Quaife tag that was tied to the diff, on the back is printed "H-8B1" Lucky I kept the tag he he! As far as I know it is an Eclipse diff. Here is a pic of my diff if anyone is curious.
I have other pics of the install, maybe I should do a more complete write up of my experience with the swap and then make it sticky??
