DaytonaTibby's turbo setup
#1
Thanks for your help. Ive been a member for a while now, but Im in college in a really hard and time consuming degree program, so I dont have much time to chat and search around. I got some pics of the turbo kit and I will post them as soon as I figure it out. Sorry about the size.
I bought this kit for $650. T3/T4 Turbo, OBX Turbo Manifold, 38mm Wastegate, BOV, and Godspeed Intercooler. The downpipe and dump pipe are on order and I have some small amounts of customization to do.

Wow, great deal. I hope that all the parts will last for you since I've heard some horror stories with their turbos. Have you thought about how you want to tune that setup? You'd be a prime candidate for the ecu swap kit I'm trying to get off the ground.

Good to see you.
Since your pics are on photobucket, use the GENERATE IMAGE CODE FEATURE.
You can have nice clickable thumbnails in just a few seconds.

3 things to check...
1 make sure the manifold flanges are straight and the welds are correct
2 those external wastegate often don't work well. the pressure side of the diaphragm often leak
3 most horror stories about those "china" turbo are about splitting appart compressor housing, but bearing wise it's not much better also, but sure to monitor turbo condition once in a while
