Default Crower vs Pauter Rods

Ok, I'm asking which is better in terms of holding up power. Should I go with Crower, which is made to order, or Pauter, which I can order from KORE?

Well, they only come for 2.0L engines, so unless you plan on installing a 2.0L crank, you should get 1.8L rods. The 1.6L and 1.8L share stroke/rods.

For the price, I think the crower rods are the better deal. However, we will be getting a bid from Crower and Pauter for the group buy, and that might drop the prices closer to each other.

I'm gonna use a 2.0, that is if I could find one.

Thanks!

So what are the differences between the two in terms of design, strength, etc? Which would have more "bang for the buck"? And finally, what should I pick for my 300+ hp goal?

I don't know at what level Pauer rates their rods...

Crower rods for the 2.0L are rated for 600lbs of torque at 8,000 RPM's; or about 914 horsepower. You will never break one. smile.gif

Hey Red, how'd you get 914 hp from 600lbs of torque at 8000 rpm?

Horsepower = (RPM x TQ)/5252

8,000 x 600 = 4,800,000

4,800,000 / 5252 = 913.93754 horsepower
