Default computer wiring (standalone or piggyback)

Hey guys,

ok it's a bit hard to get information about the other boosted hyundai's here in australia, so having to find out what you guys have done to your rides,

I am running a full standalone engine management computer and a seperate AEM ignition discharge module in my LC2 Accent. I am rewiring both because of how poorly mine was setup by previous owners mechanic's. My main question is how have you wired up yours... meaning as much as you can through the standard wiring harness's or did you remove wiring and run wiring from output of the computer to each part?

I am running:

EMS Stinger 4424

AEM Ignition Discharge Module

any advice wouldbe great.

Cheers Ryan

I will speak for the Piggyback side of the house, Us here with piggyback, just simple tap, and intersect wires off the stock wiring harness. There is no real need to rewire the car when runnning a Piggyback just because you obviously still need the Ecu to manage run the vehicle.

I have not heard anything about people just custom making a wiring harness, ever though even if it is a Standalone, just because the amount of work that would be envolved, but i understand why you might consider it.

If i were you i would solder undo the nasty work and just solder the wires back to wwere they belong, then wire tie them up so there not visible and have a clean apperance from when looked at!

What actually runs of the standard computer? as im aware it should only be the engine (car's not automatic). if i do a beta gearbox swap so i can use off the shelf parts i will use this for my instrument cluster http://www.s3performance.com.au/acew...e5gi3hrinu1vd6

You can use automatic tranny but it will not use the OEM TCM.
