would be kinda nice John
but quite far away from me...
and you know that my car won't remain in it's actual state for long ;-)
if i have the software and wires i wouldn,t mind using it
but without software it's a bit useless for me 02.gif
in a few peoples cases with an actual set up up to their needs and no planing of major modification then yes it's a good thing ;-)

I think this would be great if we could get it all working good. It would be an awesome thing to finally bring to the states. Im interested in learning a bit more and would gladly help out if needed.
if this is involves rechipping the ECUs, all we need to know is what jumpers to set and what chips needs to be replaced. I bet (and hope) that this won't be more difficult to tune than your average Honda/DSM ECUs as I have experience in using various softwares on these cars like Crome, DSM Link, etc.
The only downside I see here (assuming this is rechipping he is talking about) is that if you want to have the ability to tune your car anytime, you have to buy a chip burner and usually, there won't be any form of 'Live Communication' with the ECU unless we also get some form of emulator.

Im sure this is the same type of thing as dsmlink or any of that. Ive used that as well as a chip burner. Not really to bad but as stated an emulator would be nice. Otherwise you can just use a logger with a wideband and go back and change points.
well it IS a good idea, i don't see it ever working, or at least benefiting you.
lets say, by the RARE chance you got 10-15 people SERIOUSLY interested in doing this, that WOULDN'T back out. then you come here, do your deeds, people pay w/e it is for the tuning, swap, etc, etc. when they coulda just bought a MS system..
and even IF this caught on, and there were a handful of people here who knew/had software, etc. i don't see a tib guy towing or driving his car a few hundred miles to get his car tuned by the few who will know the software and such.
with the MS plug n play pretty much in full swing, this will be a hard thing to be successful at.. can't be easier than the MS. good software, easy to learn, and just plug in the ECU and you got base maps ready to go
lets say it functions JUST like the emanage or DSM LINK (easy as pie) there will still be a hefty price to pay, and there wouldn't be any real benifet over buying the MS setup.

Mad_John, does 'reflashing' those ECUs require rechipping and chipburners?
no you dont do any of that. you basicly format. upload.check.test then if you what to change something you repeat the last three. when you go to change say the fuel table there are 4 of them base. ideal. part load and full load. if you set your base&Ideal tables up right the part load and the full load will be closer to correct.. then say you did them one by one..
This shit is thick as hell guys but by use doing this..you now will have the means to do what you want. change when you want. running on 7psi of boost is going to be a thing of the past for you guys.. by no means is this easy let me tell you. this is what i am thinking right now:
1. people who are 100% on swaping out there bosch units.for the kdm ones..
* you will be given the korean parts price+ shipping from here or a % out of a entire group of people
2. Members who what to own there owen flashing/programing rig.
* We will teach you what to do.. this is like a collage course.. dig it smile.gif
Or you guys can do this say you get 5 guys from your area and all 5 of you chip in for the rig and then send one person to lean then that person can teach the outher 4... see where i am going with this..i know money is tight for most of you.. but if you lean this shit you can have people pay you to reflash/reset the rpm. limit and pull the speed cut.
3. Say you are building a turbo.. Well you build it. have it ready and then we install the software and the hard ware to run your machine..
see there are many way we can approch this.. is it going to cost a little bit yes. but is it worth it yes.
there is only one guy i know who has the same rig and software as use here and he is in FL the site name is NGT new generation tiburon.. he spent about 10 grand.. and charges people 600 for re-flashing Ecu's. well that shit is not no 10 grand.. and the crazy low life theif that he bout it form is no other then DTM right here in Taegu... i am sure you guys remember that asswipe Airborne and the mess he made..
I am tired of f***s like that. kspec. SFR etc etc... no more..

Socks,
when properly tuned the stock ECU is way better then a MS and lots of other standalone...
John,
does it require the korean version of the GX /XD ecu or does the north american one work?
we do need to change the crank sensor, and add a map sensor right?
does it do live tuning? meaning that you can tune oin the spot with the car running or you have to load and download a BIN in the ECU each times?
do you have a ballpark price for the software and "crash course"
like i said, the idea is nice, for a car that will remain in the same tune for long time
in lots of other cases guys like will want the ability to play with the settings
