Catch Can, Pcv Setup
Alright I want to see and find out what the boosted guys are setting up there PCV systems.
Currently I have my PCV setup just like stock and the other breather vent going into my catch can. I noticed some of the members are doing it differently. I want to know why and what is the best method.
XtremePC and Renante look to be doing it the same way. Both PCV and breather ran to catch can with breather filter on top.

I think John said one of his lines runs down to the back of the car and just drips on the pavement.
When I put in my catch can, I did both lines all the way to the catch can and back again, and my car idled like shit. I think I contacted YOU about it, didn't I? LOL So now the first line that goes to the intake elbow goes to my catchcan and back, the other is hooked up stock.
I'd prefer to have them both go to a catch can, keep that shit clean. I know, I'm N/A, but I'm just answerin.

Your correct Redz I did tell you that. And that is the Correct way. You wont have to worry about anything coming out of your PCV into your intake manifold because the PCV closes when it gets out of vacuum.

Positive crankcase ventilation (PCV), consists of a PCV valve, its vacuum hose or line, a supply hose providing air into the crankcase, and on some applications, a breather filter to clean the air provided to the supply hose.
The purpose of the PCV valve is to regulate the flow of crankcase fumes into the intake manifold where they can be burned. The PCV valve also has a secondary role as a check valve, to prevent flow back into the crankcase. This prevents potential ignition of the crankcase fumes, should the engine backfire. The PCV system is also crucial for to proper engine sealing. The system alleviates crankcase pressure, which can push out on seals and gaskets, contributing to oil leaks.

I ran a catch can on the line that goes to the intake for a while and barely caught anything. Both my original intake and aftermarket intake piping were basically oil-free, just a thin film. And yet my IM was filthy from oil.
The PCV valve is what really needs an oil catch can IMO. But I want to find a 2 in 1 catch can that has dual reservoirs inside, so I can run both lines to it while still maintaining separate pressures as well.
Here is someone running dual DIY catch cans on an mx6 and catching crap in both. I would prefer a nicer-looking solution.
I wouldn't want to vent to atmosphere either. Aside from that dripping on your driveway and probably engine bay when at speed, the vacuum on the inlet side helps suck those dirty fumes.

I've yet to get a catch can but my IM is getting oil all through it from the PCV line. Maybe it's because the hose that would usually lead to the intake elbow is blocked-off on my setup... either way oil is still getting to the IM from the PCV.

Only thing is, I don't want to spend that much for a second catch can. Mine was like $110 shipped. Don't laugh, it's awesome, came with tons of high quality hose that matches the Samco Sport hoses, 3 mounts, filters, instructions, and mounted looking like OEM.
