Default Boost vaccumm

For some reason today my boost gauge is acting up (or so I think). Usually when cruising, not pressing the accelerator,

the gauge reads about 10InHG, now today I noticed that it reads at the very very bottom of the gauge, the needle points straight down.

What could be the reasoning behind this?

Melted rings and broken valves, with heavily scored cylinder walls, in the worst case.

LOL ^Stocker finally starting to get your sense of humour

How about just a faulty vac line to the gauge first.

Well what kind of gauge do you have? Is it mechanical electrical or digital? And the vac line hooks right to it correct? If it is mechanical hook a vacuum tester to it and ss f it moves the needle. If it does then you have a vac leak if your car is still running like it should.

most likely either a leak (that you didnt catch) or just a faulty gauge.. what is the vacuum at idle?

Well lets ask the obvious question does the needle move at startup or does it just stay down?
