So for this week I will be driving to and from work with a turbo car with no FIC. I was thinking about just pulling the BOV off and place a filter there and pull off the wastegate actuator. This would provide minimal boost that won't even reach the IM.
I had an internal gate and at some point I disconnected the actuator arm from the wastegate. Car drove exactly like it did N/A

How does the ECU 'freak out'? Throw a CEL?
In my case, I was even limiting the MAF voltage seen by the ECU (using the FIC). I had the limitat like 4.6v and often at WOT the ECU would suddenly lean out for a few times for no apparent reason. I decreased the cap to 4.5v and it did it less often. Decreased it to 4.45v and never did it again, worked like a charm. With no turbo the max voltage the MAF gets to is like 4.2-4.3v.

Huh? So wastegate closed = no boost control = psi up the gazoo.
Building boost and driving like N/A?
