Arp Head Studs With Boosted Application
#1
On my setup, I have lower compression pistons (8:5.1) overbore 82.5. Now im running a steady 12 psi but if I continue to run a high boost say 19 psi, would the stock head bolts not cause the head to lift, even though the motor has been decompressed from the smaller low compression pistons? When are the arp head studs required?

I am at 19psi now and so far the head has not lifted.
I would recommend the ARP studs though.

it hasnt lifted? Do you think 15psi would be ok for my every day driving, considering I have a built motor, but lacking the ARK studs im using stock head bolts. My motor is decompressed to 8:5.1 and im using overbore pistons (82.5). Anyone run 15psi for everyday with stock head bolts?
Also, can you replace the head bolts one by one (stock to arp) without changing the head gasket? What I mean by this is follow the pattern of removing the head bolts but rather then removing them, replace them one by one (meaning pull one, replace with arp, then move on the next)?

arp head studs was installed on my car, as soon as my cylinder head was modified.
but that didn't prevent getting damaged rods with copper gaskets, pushing the car over 300hp+.
arp head studs, metal gaskets are not expensive.
recommend to buy it and get it installed, it can save you a lot of money with damaged engine and expensive rebuild.
faithofdragon HAVE YOU GOT STOCK HEADBOLTS ON YOUR 300HP TIBURON?
Its just I went through a long and expensive rebuild on my car.

Fact #1 oem head bolts and head gaskets are good up to 600 hp "how because all the 600 and above boosted tibby use this here imported ones are about 500 bucks from the states so they had no choice but to use oem and they work
Fact#2 I am right now am useing oem head/main bolts and oem gaskets and they hold 1.6.bar of boost for 2 years with no problem
Fact#3 any tibby that will see boost pressure over 1.7 or 2.0 bar and up you need ARP head bolts and mains
oem can hold up to 550WHP on " that is proven here in korea" Zest's drag car is proof of that
Fact#4 " if any questions See fact #2
thank you from the boost Dept korea
