alpine supercharger

Thanks guys for all the information on the alpine turbo kit...what about the supercharger, my friend has a 95 Talon-turbo, he told me that it would be better
to supercharge, cause of less problems.. plus, I've already put a sharkracing header, then i ran a 2.5 inch pipe the rest of the way, , I also put cold air intake, under drive pully, 8.0 mm pugg wire, .....So guys would the supercharger kit from alpine, be better, and keep me from blowing my motor.., what else, should I do to get more HP from my motor, I really don't have any problem with out runing other cars, but just want more power.. Thanks Guys

search it man. we've talked bout this like 40 times. basically yes its more reliable but you will be very restricted on hp

Nitrous = better. You Save $2,000, and you have virtually no problems what so ever. Fill the bottle, keep an eye on the lines, take a few precautionary measures, and use it when you need to. And you get more horsies.

supercharger will NOT get you over 200hp (highest it has been seen is at 199hp, and that was with over $2k worth of tuning) with the amount you will spend on the supercharger, you could buy a nitrous kit or a low-boosted "basic" turbo kit, (and a turbo kit is always expandable/upgradable if you want A LOT of power) from speed-factor(.com)

Tylerstib.. stop putting boost topics in non-boost sections. Do a search next time please... I am going to move this and let Speed-Factor do what he wants with it.

this still wouldnt be cost effective at all, but what if you ran nitrous with a supercharger setup? wouldnt that put you over 200whp? just a thought...

hamhead 02-03-2005 11:13 PM

Sure you could... but you would end up buying a nitrous kit anyway. For 200HP, you could run a 75 shot and a few bolt-ons. Or you could run around 8PSI on a mid-range turbo. Or you could spend thousands running water injection, methanol, smaller pulleys, etc. on a supercharger. If you don't need the 200HP every day, and all you want is 200HP, then the nitrous is the cheaper way to do it.

Tibminn 02-03-2005 11:18 PM

well like i said, its not cost effective. i just wanted to know if you could do it. and in that case you could in fact get over 200whp with a s/c. its just kinda cheating wink1.gif. well and spending way too much too

You can run nitrous on any engine, turbocharged as well. In that case, your injecting the nitrous into the intercooler. Nitrous is a great addition to any engine. tongue.gif

Ive never seen nitrous injection into the intercooler. Ive only ever seen it before the TB or direct port. laugh.gif:
