OK, got a question, Does anyone know how much Alpine is selling their supercharger kit for? Also are they able or do they have an aftercooler kit for that as well? Will I have to upgrade the fuel injectors and/or the fuel pump/throttle body? Thanks in advance.

The 2001 Elantra got a MAP sensor rather than MAF, and a different ECU.
The head might also be different. Red is going to peek in the head on Friday...so we should know more then. I'll hopefully be buying one within the next 2 weeks (just the motor) and I will tear it down and compare it to mine.
But since the ECU is different the Alpine supercharger kit would not work on your car. But the turbo kit still would.

hmmm.... ok. So this would also go for the 2001 Tibby as well? If not I wonder why they put a diferent ECU and stuff in the Lantra. sad.gif . I also heard the MAP $crews with the turbo as well. I could be wrong though. Man these Fuel injected cars are really starting to confuse me a little. Used to working on a 691/2 Camaro. (NO computer
) Well got to learn some way. Any how, DOes the turbo kit come with the intercooler set up. I noticed on the Alpine site that they say Tibby with intercooler but they dont mention it fro the elantra. Maybe I will go with the turbo. But I dont plan on drag racing with it much. I plan on doing SCCA road rallies with it. Not sure how a turbo will react with on an off throttle driving.

the 2001 Tiburon is not MAP, but the 2002 IS.
It is unknown if the MAP in the new engine is boost friendly or not. Time will tell.
Yes, the alpine kit comes with an intercooler, and I would reccomend replacing it with a larger/better performing unit as soon as you start road racing. Intercooler heat soak SUCKS!
