are all V band clamps the same?

Default are all V band clamps the same?

one of my V band clamps will not tighten up...so I need to get a new one. the question is are the all the same for the 3 inch size?

If something is cheap, it is cheap for a reason. If you pick up a cheap clamp and a good one, the good one will be heavier. Thicker metal = stronger. Plus possibly better tolerances and fewer defects.

no some are different. The v-band flanges on my Garret turbo have a smaller lip than most flanges and requires a clamp with a shallow channel. Some flanges have an internal lip to help with sealing which makes them wider when put together which requires a wider channel.
