I was keeping this under wraps just because I wasn't sure it was going to happen but, now I know it is.
I've been in contact with an authorized AEM retailer and we've come up with a way to adapt the Honda Ems 10-3050 to our cars. John is currently working on making a PnP harness for our ecu, thats right. A PnP harness. He will provide a basetune to get you up and running if you so wish. He's going to be calling around and trying to get ahold of these blank connectors, like the one I sent him, so that he can make more if others want them.
So, to run this setup you'll want: this harness, a simple bosch/mitsu 2 channel ignitor, and a honda 30-1050 AEM ems. You can find these for 500-600ish used if you look around on honda sites or ebay. This is the first anyone has had a PnP standalone for our cars, let alone being backed by such a reputable company! It will also be the first anyone has ran an AEM EMS on our cars wink1.gif. This is the same standalone used in most of the 1000+whp supras so its proven.
He's waiting to finalize things before telling me the price but chances are you can get the whole package: harness, ignitor and standalone for under 1k.

i quoted myself from another forum. I know a few people have beta2s in their RDs so this might mainly apply to them. Does anyone have a pinout they can send me from the beta1 so i can compare them to the beta2 and see if it can work for your beta1 guys. I'm sure that it can with a little tweaking!

talked with Sean. Its defintely different but I'm going to send them a Beta1 ecu for them to make a harness. Is there anyone here who DEFINTELY, and i mean DEFINTELY wants one for their Beta1? if you do, shoot me a pm and we'll discuss the details!

The people here with beta 2s still have the beta 1 ecu. My car will have the beta 2 but still with the beta 1 ecu. I would strongly consider doing it. Ive had about enough with the prs4 and Would think about soemthing else. How is tuning the AEM? I mean, with a wideband can I get a decent street tune on my own?

tuning the AEM should be fine. From what I've seen/heard it is user friendly and thats why many people perfer it. Its also why its gotten the rep it has. You can download the free software for it right now if you want ot check it out. I'll look up the link for the software and post it in a second.
edit: heres a link to the software: http://forum.aempower.com/forum/inde...c,17194.0.html

Alright guys, update time
Talked to John today, said he's been working on it and its been going pretty good. He said he's about halfway done woot woot! I told him I found stock computers for $55 shipped and seemed interested in it. If everyone is satisfied with how I like it, I think he'll do a limited time group buy if people want.
I should have pictures by the end of the week. I thought I'd have them tonight but nothing yet. He said he's behind on emails and will get the pictures out as soon as he can.
Stay tuned! smile.gif

I still can't say this for sure. You guys did say you can use the beta1 ecu with the beta2 motor. is that with the beta2 harness?
Once I get it, if theres someon with an RD that lives close to me we could hook it up and see if it reads everything. Won't take long at all.
