Dudes,
My turbo sits very close to the radiator and my water temp gets up to 115 degrees C, when I am not cruising.
I am thinking of having a heat shield made to fit in between the radiator and turbo.
I would like advise on what material is recommended and the do's and don’ts.
Can those in the know give me some advise on this?? sad.gif

How are your fans set up, did you convert to the push through instead of the pull through that comes stock?
Any heat shield you put there, depending on size might compromise the unhindered flow of air through the radiator, and make your temps the same if not worse.

exactly ham. i would like to see a pic of your setup. ive never seen a turbo sit so close to the radiator it would actually change temps so much. what fans are you using? if you are using the push fans i would think you should be fine. you may want to control differently and have them on more often to keep temps down

Thanks your advise people.
yup - I have a "push fan" that is on as soon as you turn the ignition on.
After a bit of boost Temps still get high once I have stopped at a robot etc.
I have found someone ( Roadmaster )to make me a custom heat shield.
This is bolted onto the one side ( exhaust ) of the turbo.
It is going to a similar shape to a simota air filter shields but smaller and thicker matarial.
I am also now going to see if I can upgrade the Push Fan.
Otherwise the boutton clutchis seated and the Car is Flying!

Thanks Guys

I have the same issue, when I am sitting at idle you can literally watch my AFR go lean because of the heat. I have no problems while I am driving though. Right now I have a stock radiator with stock fans both set to come on, with the passenger side pushing through and the drivers side pulling through. I have a Honda radiator (half core) being modified right now and a FAL fan ready for install. This setup keeps it all on the drivers side, reducing the chances of heatsoak through the wastegate and turbo. When I get the radiator and install it I will post up some picks.
