500+ Hp Block Build
I remember reading somewhere about a bunch of rich buys with beta accents that talked about lightening the crank then cryotreating it. they said with that crank and their head setup, they rev out to like 10k or something =P .... id say give it a shot
Humm, dual boosting?! That would be a fine time tuning. What ever you do dont use a safcII or whatever for a quick tune solution. Im probably going to get flamed from redzman for pointing out my dislikes again but whatever.
My sugestions for that is definatly upgrade your cams if your shooting for those numbers. Titanium valvesprings, a good set of valves. If your going to daul boost you might want to look into shorter stroked pistons so you can rev the motor out more. The issues with this is the fact that the blocks are so tall and if you go more than I think .03 you will be into the water ways. Anyways you would be better off building it to rev out to around 10 or 12k for dual boost. Reaserch the superchargers and turbos. Figure out where they will run out of power so you can get a turbo big enough that it will be spooled up by the time the supercharger runs out of breath. thats one of the biggest issues people run into with doing stuff like that.
Have your crank cryotreated it will help!
As for rods and pistons. You can have companies make you forged rods and pistons. Contact pauter to see how much power there rods are recomended for so you dont waste money on something you will destroy. Like johnGTR said you can go with the .04's but you cant have the block rebored after that. Its personal preference, but if you have custom ones made it will take forever to get them.
Make sure you upgrade your grabbers if you havnt already done so. 500whp is useless if you cant stop it. There is allot of information about using larger disks and dual piston calipers.
What are your plans for tuning the car? I would definatly take it and have it dyno tuned whatever you do. You have no chance of getting a speeding ticket there. Plus you will be able to show your numbers as soon as its done.

If you plan on going past 6,500rpm's. I would get the crank balanced, and possible cryotreated.
You should always get your crank balanced no matter what you're reving to.
When switching to lighter or heavier rods/pistons, the counterweights on the crank are no longer to spec. You need to grind/weld them to add or remove weight to counteract the new rotating weight. Otherwise your motor will vibrate like crazy.
ya i figured it nothing else, get it all balanced together. i will probably look into cryotreating as well. as for tuning, i have a standalone. useless at the moment since the cars down and i cant get it to work but i will have it working soon hopefully. supercharging is way down the road if ever so im not to worried about it right now. im going to start looking into somenumbers and piecing it together. thanks for all the input
ok, so i ordered the wiseco pistons and hopefully ill get them soon even though i wont actually start it all until i have everything. anyway i was thinking. when i do the pistons, rods, and balance it all along with the deburring and boring what will be limiting me from pushing (and this is just a random number) up to 1000hp. Im just talking block area. Should I just go all out with the blueprinting and all that? Is there anything I can buy that would be stronger/better? thanks
