The SMT6 alone won't be better than the SAFC; that is, if you use the SMT6 to trick the stock ECU into thinking there's more air coming in than there really is, you'll run into the exact same problem than with the SAFC.

What's interesting with the SMT6 is it's hability to run extra injectors (and take it's readings from an added MAP sensor). If you get an SMT6, that's what you wanna do. Otherwise, it's just an SAFC that can also control timing (still nice, but that's not what we want).

If you don't want to run extra injectors, do as JonGTR said; run the SAFC2, it WILL work, only not in an optimal way. Then save some money, and get the PRS2, which is a good, but cheap, standalone.

Well with the new ECU, SAFC, or SMT6 you should get a new FPR. The only Vortech one that is designed to replace the FPR is the Vortech SFMU. Also 12:1 is a VERY high ratio.....

Get whichever is cheaper: SAFC or SMT. Those will only be temperary. Then save your money for a standalone.

^^He could go with an injector spacer too, with the SMT6 wink1.gif Would cost about the same (parts + installation). Matter of preference.

The PRS2 like all stand alones is not OBD2 complaint. For example here in Maryland if you car shows up as OBD2 they HAVE to connect the OBD tool and verify everything is functional. They do not check your actual emissions.

so everyone using it is either track only or just in a state that doesn't do obd-II testing?

sounds like re's ecu really will be the best...

You might want to consider Denis injector spacer. It's a spacer that goes between the IM and head, and holds 4 additionnal injectors, which the SMT6 controls. There's some info threads on it here. That's what I'm running. It allows you to retain the stock ECU and stay 100% while off-boost, and have full control (using the SMT6 and an aditionnal MAP) while under boost. Quite nice.

how much does that setup cost? sounds like a nice solution, so i'd have 8 stock injectors?

You can run any size injectors you want (stock or other).

Info thread on the spacer: clicky clicky!
