Default '03 I4 Tibruon Turbo Question

Okay, so I've decided to poll the collective brains on this board in an effort to come up with a feasible solution to my problem.
My problem is that I've got the Alpine turbo kit installed which was originally designed for a 2001 Tiburon with a 'return' type regulated fuel system with the 245cc/min fuel injectors. My '03 Tiburon has a 'returnless' type fuel system with 185cc/min injectors. The Alpine kit is designed to use a fith injector and new fuel pressure regulator. Also my car has a MAP sensor instead of the MAF sensor found on the 2001 Tiburon. Since I can't use this setup what are my options?
The kit comes with a Unichip ECU which again is designed for the 2001 Tiburon. Alpine is attempting to work a solution but is taking a while. I know a SAFC wouldn't work and since the Unichip has been programmed for the use of four larger (245cc) injectors and a supplemental fith injector there would have to be extensive reprogramming to get it to work.
Does anyone know of another different type of solution to get my setup to work? frown

The unichip is designed for any car its not specific to the 2001. Get the programming redone and you wont have any problems on that side especially as you have a MAP system. It sound like the only problem you have full stop is the returnless fuel system. The only problem that may occour with the chip is if the map and maf ones are different on the wiring side if they are im sure alpine will change it to the one i have(europen spec) as a one for one swap.

i had the Alpine kit installed for a year now in my 1997 Tib.I am running the S-AFC and 440cc injectors and is running fine without any problems.I would suggest you sell the unichip make some money and purchase a S-AFC and larger injectors.OR if you want reprogram the Unichip to run 4 LARGER 440cc injectors at a unichip dealer!

Just out of interest what is the problem with the unichip in the US is it just the fact that it is expensive to tune as it does everything that is needed and more so i cant see why this S-AFC is any better.

2Uniq,

You have a return style fuel system on your Tiburon so you can utilize the fith injector setup with the existing Unichip program, and since your car is MAF based you can also choose the use of a S-AFC. Since my car is not a return fuel system and is MAP based, from what I understand, I cannot use the Unichip as is, and cannot utilize a S-AFC.
The main problem with the Unichip is that I can't get a schematic showing what wires do what and go where for the 2003 Tiburon. Plus since it is pre-programmed for the use of a fith injector and a MAF based setup even if I could install it I could not use it. From what I've heard getting the Unichip reprogrammed is a major expense, one that I'm unwilling to pay since the kit was advertised as a 'bolt-on' for my model year.

David!
If im not mistaken the S-AFC can control MAP vehicles. If not ask Alpine if they can send you the Unichip which is programmed for MAP cars?

Well, I just got off the phone with John, the owner of Alpine, and he said that they are going to stick with the Unichip/5th injector setup for now and that with the right programming it will be able to handle everything I need on the return less system. My local speed shop is an authorized Unichip dealer/installer so I'm going to take it to them to have it setup.
I a little worried though because my OEM injectors are only 185cc as opposed to the prior model year's 245cc. John assured me that the extra 50lb/hr injector should be enough to make up the fuel differences...I hope he's right....
