What kind of oil do I use for transmission?

So far I've run nulon 75/90 synthetic in my manual alpha boxes. Not by choice, mind ye. Redline is very expensive and hard to find in australia. The nulon stuff works fine? I had an X3 with 150k miles on it that I beat on at every opportunity. I changed the engine and trans oil when I bought the car, and kept the transmission when I scrapped the car. The clutch had stress cracks, the bellhousing was starting to crack and the oil I drained was full of metal filings, but it never ground or gave me any hassles. Without a real comparison, I can't comment on shifter feel though.



I'm running nulon in the beta LC, no complaints there, but everything has pretty low mileage. Seeing as its kinda relevant, here's a picture of the LC trans that the beta ate:









So yeah, that's an option. Not rave-worthy, but proven in my books. Also reasonably priced in my area.

i'd like to toss amsoil into the 'bad' pile.
