Default transmissions - I was bored

I was bored, so I was poking at transmission model numbers and pricing from hyundausa.com

this is a 2002 Elantra 5spd, for the 4door sedan for 4cyc

43000-28542 TRANSMISSION ASSY-MANUAL 1753.77 1753.77

---------------------------------------
2000-2001 with cross members Hyundai Tiburon 5spd for 4cyc

43000-28061 TRANSAXLE ASSY-MANUAL 1753.77 1753.77

----------------------------------------
2001 with sub frame Hyundai Tiburon 5spd for 4cyc

43000-28062 TRANSAXLE ASSY-MANUAL 1753.77 1753.77
---------------------------------------
2003 tiburon 5 spd for 4cyc with subframe

43000-28723 TRANSMISSION ASSY-MANUAL 1760.60 1760.60

---------------------------------
2003 Hyundai Tiburon 6spd for v6

43000-39910 TRANSMISSION ASSY-MANUAL 4808.63 4808.63

I did not see the 5spd for the v6 listed.
thou they have the
43000-39910 listed twice for GL and GLS model.

this is scaring my tibby
sad.gif

BTW,... just incase you are bored again

how about putting up some cams scpecs for all the betas?

I believe the exhaust cam on the 97-99 tibbies are better than the 00-01 ones
the intake cam is better in the 00-01 tibbies (i think)

Well how about some cam part numbers to prove im on crack or im just bored as well.
lol

No 5 speed available for V6. The 6 speed will be available for the 2.o in the future but not just yet.

I hear they cant even rebuild them at the dealership. All trannys are shipped back to manufacturer and replaced with a new one.

something about they are specially sealed and need to submerged in boiling oil to release the seals.

The 6 speed are not a Hyundai designed or built. they are being produced by an Japanese company for Hyundai.

I've heard that next year's 6 speed will be a Hyundai's design and built, so the price should come down.
