Default Syncros

Anyone done a set of syncros? How much of a PITA is it? My car needs 1st and 3rd replaced really bad but I keep putting it off. When I do it I think I'll just do all 5.

Going to be a summer progect though.. it's just too damn cold right now.

I was thinking about it, but then my ASE friend yelled at me. The tranny has to come off anyways so you might as well just pull it apart.

From looking at the diagrams of how to disassemble a beta tranny on HMAService, it doesn't look easy. But the diagrams are there.

What exactly is it that causes a syncro to go bad? I have a bad feeling that my 2nd needs done but it will still be under warranty. It's just the pain of getting the car in and being without it for a day or two if not more.

Picking up a used tranny is in my opinion the better idea of the two. I ended up paying too much $$$ rebuilding the tranny 'cause i was cornered into when i realized it was too late. I spent about $2200 which if ask me is quite a bit especially compared to $200-$300 for a used one. I hit myself in the head EVERYDAY for it especially since that money was for a turbo kit. I was a victum of my own ignorance! If anything came out of this, i would hope everyone would learn from my mistake.
