Default parasitic drivetrain losses

can someone list common causes of parasitic drivetrain losses for fwd cars? specifically any that would effect our hyundai engines. also with each type and cause of parasitic drivetrain loss can you list a possible solution or work around?thanks in advance.

manual tranny btw! and all i need to know is what causes it and how to solve it ... nothing else ... as i am doing a little research and need a starting place from the point i am at to the point i would like to be at.

1. Friction - less friction is more power
2. Accesssory drag - You don't need that alternator, water pump, power steering, or A/C
3. Rolling resistance - wheels and tires
4. Weight - Call Jenny Craig


Fixes ... Lower the friction by use of specialized fluids. The accessory drive is a necessary evil. Underdrive is the only fix after dropping the power steer and A/C. Go with lightweight wheels and tires that have a low rolling resistance. Put that car on a diet. All that extra deadweight isn't helping you.

Lightweight flywheel I would recommend over an underdrive pulley though. More HP recovered, less damage to the engine. But, every car has parasitic loss, its a fact you will have to live with. You will never put 140hp to the wheels by trying to remove the parasitic odds and ends.

::knock on wood:: over 100k miles on a UDP + driving like an idiot. So far so good. Well see what happens after my next mod.... that might be the end of that beta.
