Painting my transmission?
I got my new transmission and cleaned and scrubbed it with degreaser and somewhat sanded it a little. I want to paint the transmission a black color.
I have a spray can of Gblack Dupli-color lacquer paint. Do I need to use a primer and clear coat? Or can I just paint it straight black on the tranny. What color primer should i base coat it with and top off with clear coat?

if your doing black, primer color shouldn't matter. just use the flat black.
i would primer it though.. i would probably skip the clear and just use a high gloss black. i might even use the 500 degree paint, even though it doesn't get that hot.
make sure you start off with thinner coats and i would recommend ending with a 'wet' coat to provide the gloss and a nice 'shell'
