Well, I ran into this today. Tell me what you think. I did a search and haven't seen this anywhere on the boards...

It's a pretty old device; basically, what it does is forcing the two gears in the differential to spin together, using some strong springs pushing 2 blocks of metal.



It does the job pretty good (condidering the price) up to about 250hp; even then, you can be pretty sure that you'll destroy the differential before damaging the Phatom Grip, as it's very strong. That's what Onpol was using when he had ~250hp.

The two inner plates push against the gears, and pushed them against the inner transmission cover.

Using the two plates and the wall of the bellhousing like clutches. what will happen on a higher horsepower, is the gears will begin to cut into the casing.
