We can use same KAZZ LSD for Beta and Alpha transmission.
If he's right...

I might just have to save up to get in on the group buy.

Hi...This is Young Choi
...It is not so easy to explain...English...

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your Elantra is Beta mission.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't get you. What do you mean by this?

It means that Elantra has 2 types of mission
one is alpha, the other is beta.
so..your mission is Beta ..
OK??

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So you can use KAZZ.. but it needs some modify to install.
Diff case is a little different
so...we some time asked KAZZ to modify it firsttime but nowdays we modify it in Korea.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What would be modified?

It is not so easy to explain...
When I came back to Korea, I will send photo..
shortly..diff case is a little different, so you must grind ( cut off ) KAZZ LSD case to install beta mission.

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And..this LSD doesn't support speed sensor so speed meter doesn't work..
But your model (South Asia model, leaded fuel) doen't use Transmission speed sensor, so your speed meter will work.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What is a trasmission speed sensor? And my car runs on unleaded fuel. And I live in South-East Asia.

Elantra use 2 types of speed measuring.
one is speed sensor type which is installed transmission.
This sensor measure speed and send signal to ECU

The other is cable type speed sensor.
Cable is connected in Dash gauge.
So..ECU can received speed signal from DOsh gauge
or doesn't receive speed signal(Unleaded fuel does not send speed signal to ECU)

And..I don't remember exactly what year...
But Mitsubishi is not....
About 92 year Mirage LSD..
it was long time.. I think.

If you really want to know..
I will tell you KAZZ parts number...

If you need more info..let me know.

--------------------
98 Elantra 1.6 BETA 5-Speed

My car is toast.

race real

Can you give me the part number to the LSD?

I was not aware that a mirage LSD would fit on the BETA 5 speed tranny

If the Kaaz mirage LSD can fit the BETA and ALPHA tranny... then that means all the other LSD's out there will fit our cars

Ill do some more HW... maybe i can dig up some pictures for us to compare

The KAZZ LSD fits all tib/elantra 5 speed tranny. KORE helped develop the LSD for race applications. You don't have to mod it to put it in. We have had it avail for more than a year.

thanks

KORE helped develop it? haha....

You do know the Tib LSD from Kaaz has been around longer than KORE has, right?

Before Dan started KORE, he helped develop the Kaaz diff for the Motorola Cup Tibs. wink He's been in the industry for quite some time it seems.

Gys the reason im asking this question is because we only have one option when it comes to LSD's

Im planning on going with a Kaaz, regardless...

I was just wondering if the mirage differential was identical to the BETA tranny differential

If so... we would have A LOT more options, some cheaper, some better (quaffie)

Just wondering...

Red never got much information from Kaaz, regarding differences and similiraties between our differential and other car make differentials...

Just wondering...

I havent been able to find any mitsu diagrams... so i really cant study this further
