so here is the issue. i gotta put a clutch in my car but i'm really strapped for cash right now. the current set up is cheapo flywheel and act 6puck. i love ACT products they have always treated me good BUT they always go out in 12-18 months when i put em in my car. now to be honest the last 2 times i bought used discs but they were in awsome shape with even the sticker still on the discs. i would love to put another one back in but cost is kinda a b*tch right now and i dont know if i need a new PP or not.
so questions...
1. how long does a pressure plate usually last? i've used this one probably 34-40k or so and its held up great. been thru maybe 3-4 discs
2. i dont really even drive the tib hard anymore since i bought the bike. do i even really need to put another aftermarket clutch in there for the occassional spirited driving?
3. if i go with just a oem type kit should i go the autozone lifetime warrenty route for like $180 or just get like a sachs kit with 1yr warrenty for like 137 or with another ACT set up for 255 no warrenty but it will most likely last me a little longer if i get the street disc this time.
i want to keep the cost to about 300 and i could do the work myself. but i honestly dont want to and told myself after my 3rd attempt at doing the clutch that i wouldnt do it anymore cause it takes me too much time and gets me too pissed off. and at the end i always end up calling a friend to do the work and end up having to pay anyways. EVERY TIME no fail
but really what i want to do is pay the 255 for the clutch and wait till next month to get it put in for bout 200 so 450 total. problem is its getting colder and snowier every day, this is my only transport and honestly if i cant get to work i cant make money. so do i cheap out and buy the sachs kit for 137 and pay 200 to get it in so its like 340 total? or even get the lifetime kit for around 380 total? so many choices it has me confused on what to do and i need to pull the trigger on some option here soon.
suggestions guys???

My current clutch is a Perfection zoom. It is the best clutch I've found for my car. It handles Nitrous well, while also allowing for a nice smoooooooth engagement. I've run it for 2 years now with no problems.

This flywheel is a great flywheel. It comes with some indisputable certification.. I forget what it is, but you can search for my thread on this flywheel. It's the XTD prolite, not to be confused with XTR who makes a similar non-certified lightweight flywheel.

You should change your pressure plate every time you change the clutch. The kit above is a full kit with everything you need. It's always a good idea to change the flywheel, but not required by any means, however you should resurface it.

ehh if hes doing everything and i'm not touching the car 200 would be fair. but its looking like i'ma get the act and make a little trip to see a buddy who said come to my place and well just do it. so looking like i'ma pony up the loot for the ACT for 255, take a day off work and make it happen
