Default Double clutching?

Is double clutching the same as rev matching? I was reading about double clutching and it seemed it was pretty much the same except for you push the clutch in a second time. Couldnt you just rev match to get the same result? Thanks for any help you can give.

One is matching the engine speed to what it will be once the new gear is engaged. The other, double clutching, is good for non syncro cars to line the gears up. Not needed for your trans. Not the same and your assumption is correct.
