Default 5 speed swap into x3

So I've realized I'm not partial to the automatic that comes in my 98 accent. Only 120,000 km on the clock and its not shifting properly and seams to be getting weak. If anyone can give me a parts list and some details on swapping it out for a manual it would be much appreciated. I've searched for what seams like weeks with no luck.

You'll need a lot of things. Unless your car is very special the easiest way to swap is to swap cars.

I have no issues doing the work. But it seams for this car in particular there is no info for the swap. Id almost be willing to buy another car just for the parts. Any info at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'm sure I'm gonna need

-clutch pedal assembly

-master cylinder

-clutch line

-transmission

-clutch

-flywheel

-shifter and linkage

-ecu

-axles

-starter

-some wiring

Or maybe I'm way off. But I know I can't be the only one to attempt this. Is there a write up someone can point me towards?

It will be very similar to that write up. I think you need all 3 pedals, although maybe just clutch and brake.

Your car is worth more than the same car with a manual transmission so it's usually easy to sell yours and buy one with a M/T at zero cost to you, might even make a few bucks.

In all reality, I agree with you on just buying a new car. But this particular body style is quite hard to find where I live. And is in really good shape. It doesn't want to shift out of first gear. I will buy a 5speed hatch for a donor car. But the wiring, axles, mounts and ecu have me at a standstill.

Auto ECU should work, may idle a bit high. It varied too much by year to be 100% sure off the top of my head though. Axles, mounts, pedals, shifter, linkage, pressure lines, clutch master and slave cylinders, and console need to come from the donor car. Anything else minor that you need should come off the donor which makes it a lot more convenient than running to the wrecker each time.

Your car should be compatible with a 98 or 99. Earlier cars had some wiring, suspension, steering, and braking differences. Later cars are for the purposes of your project incompatible.
