I have captive rotors and I'm looking to get wheel spacers f&r. I can't seem to find wheel spacers that says they'll fit captive rotors. I'm not even able to find that they're made.

And one more thing... For a daily driver, is there a GREAT reason to do the non-captive swap? I understand you'd get a wider array of aftermarket rotors (and wheels if the spacers aren't available) and it'd be easier to replace the rotors etc. without the 4 extra bolts but is there any other reason I'm missing?

Thanks guys!

while I'm sure it's "possible" the easier and best route is to upgrade to the rd2 rear brakes then worry about spacers. You should be able to pick up the part for a good deal from a member parting out a tib.

like Supercow said, with you swaping to a non captive rotor...you basically wont be able to have wheel spacers

Actually you can have spacers with a captive setup, even with drums in the back. Search for tanc's turbo thread, and you'll find my wheel spacers that I made and I have captive upfront and at the time had drums at the back. I switched to an 01 rear end now but they switched right over.

I enjoy seeing people state things won't work or will when they don't know the facts. Seems to go around the forum lately.

What I'm really wondering is; does anyone make spacers with recesses for the 4 retaining bolts on my caliper?

Thanks, tanc! I'll check out that thread of yours.

As for the "knowing what you're typing about" issue, I have been in so many situations where I'm told "No! That cannot be done, ever!" and it turns out to be wrong. Never any bad intentions but it's still false information.

The internet is awesome, I've learned more from this site than any other. I just temper some of the answers I get with a little bit of "hmmmmmmmmm".

I guess that goes for "yes" answers as well as "no" answers.
