Suspension Going :( Need Some Advice
I think my suspension is going... I've been noticing the past 3000 miles or so that when ever I go over a bump it feels like i hit some big lol.. My car does have 111,000 miles on it. I drove my moms car the other day and its so much more nice to ride over bumps. My question is what all do I need? Just the gas shock? or do you recommend getting the coils to? I'd like to keep my suspension stock. I don't not have money to buy anything aftermarket. Do you recommend any brands? I see advanced sells the gas shocks but not the coils. Thanks for everyone's help in advance.
more than likely your struts are gone with that many miles.
I bought kyb agx struts for around 500 shipped but the gr-2 are cheaper and work just the same. i like the adjustability of the agx's and that is why I went with them.
whatever you do, its not going to be cheap to replace suspension parts.

you could, but i would wait until you have the struts and try them first with the old coils. that is just me though. i bought struts and coils all at the same time but i was lowering.
one way to check to see if your struts are gone is push down on the front of the car. if it sits there and bounces up and down more than once, they are toast. if they come up and stay up, they are usually fine.
back struts are a b**** to do by yourself, get a friend to reinstall. fronts arent that bad.

No you dont have to replace your coils when you do your struts. You will need a strut compressor or someone that can give you a ride to a shop that has a machine to put the coils on the new struts.
If you are doing your rear struts, do yourself a favor and go to rockauto.com and get the MOOG problem solver say bar links. that way you can just cut the old ones off. Reason being is that they are a royal PITA to get off as the 14mm back surface rounds off way to easy. If you live in an area with rust, cut the link and drill out the bolt. Save yourself alot of time and aggravation.
Follow the DIY on the site. Fronts took me about 1-1.5 hours start to finish and i had my own coil compressors.

I would get the other sway-bar links from rockauto (spicer I think). They are sealed; the Moog needs to be filled with grease, and mine rusted as hell in a couple of months.
yeah, I just changed out the suspension on two of my buddies Mazda's and I bought the spring compressor from autozone for $42. They refund you all of it when you return the part as long as you ask for the loaner one
