Well discounted. I just got a coupon from ebay for $200 because of a old transaction that had some problems so time for some new tires.

So I have to get them off ebay. And they need to be 205/40/17 and they have to be purchased in a set of 4, the coupon is off 1 transaction only.

I've been planning on getting kumho's again (my last two sets were kumho's) But I've been rather disappointed on their life. Which in general is ok, but my ecsta supra's (tread 280) only got like 18k on them and had a blowout and I rotate the tires, keep them inflated etc. And a lot of those were highway miles. We were lucky to not get injured and not destroy the wheel.

Anyways what do you guys recommend? If I get 30k on the tires I'll be ecstatic and my main concern with these are performance. they are going on my summer only wheels, and will also be used a few times for auto-x. I've got the stock wheels and all season tires for winter time.

I thought about the ECSTA SPT (tread 320) but they aren't very popular on the ebay. and don't have the right size.

I thought about the kdw's (tread 300) but they seem a little pricey to me. (100-200 above all the other tires)

Zri's (tread 320) might be a good option.

Parada Spec-2 (tread 300) looks pretty good, for sure cooler looking tire than the zri.

What are you guys running?

I used to have the Paradas but they stopped making them in my size. Now all the sudden they have them on ebay in my size again. I liked them, but they had a tendency to blow out easily. I now have Falken Azenis RT-615 and absolutely love them. Best tires Ive ever had. No blow outs, and I've hit tons of pot holes and huge bumps, as well as a large rabbit and someone's exhaust. They preform awesomely in the rain as well, very grippy. I've had mine on for a year now, and have put a lot of miles on them and driven them hard. Tread is still very good and no issues, other than a nail in one of the tires.

ouch! the tread wear on those Azenis is only 200. I didn't even include the ecsta mx cause they were only 220. How many miles do you have on em now?

They do look cool. I'm just getting tired of buying a set of high performance tires every other summer. If I could get 25k out of a set of tires they'd last me 3 summers. Especially since we've started using other vehicles for road trips.

I've read good things about Nexen. They're super cheap, but all the reviews I've read have been positive.

Ive had them on for exactly 1 year, now sure how many miles (my odometer doesnt work) but I have made several trips back and forth to Toronto (550 miles each way) as well as a few other long road trips. So I dunno, at least 5k miles, probably more though. They still have excellent tread. I'd have to take a close look to really see how much, maybe 75% left. Plus I drove on these all year, including this past winter in snow. So, if youre only using these as summer tires, they will last.

^^^ yeah, that number sometimes doesn't mean crap since they might put a lower number to "prove" it performs better... Oh well. I do know that in general kumho tires tend to wear fast, so maybe I just need to spend more on tires this time.

some reviews i have read about nexxan and nankangs are really good, but lack in highway speed stability.

i just bought some sumitomo HTR Z II. on tire rack they were rated 15 out of 43 ultra high performance tires. the fuzion ZRi was 16.

I really love KDW2 T/As (thats what i had on my tib and thats what i currently have on my srt, but my 205/50/17s are too narrow for my wheels. FYI, on tire rack, the KDW2 T/As are rated 6 out of 43. the regular KDW T/As are rated 12 out of 43. i woulda got these tires, but i didn't wanna spend 130+ per tire.

the sumitomos i bought cost less than 375$ shipped, but heres the ratings Treadwear - 220 Traction - AA Temperature - A but a customer on tirerack claimed to get 38,000 miles out of em.

FYI, just looking through ebay, and heres what i would do if i was you.. buy these

kumho SPT

Oh yeah, thats another thing I love about my tires. Smooth as butter at high speeds (even at 100-110mph. Doesn't feel like you're going that fast).
