I have scraped up my Konig Tantrums pretty badly over the past few months. The scraping marks aren't all that bad, but it's an annoyance.

The rims on the right side of the car tend to be the ones that I scrape by accident the most. Today I pulled too close to a curb and scraped the front, right Tantrum pretty badly.

Has anyone else had this problem? Especially with 17s, perhaps on a lower tire height (40/17s). I sometimes wish there was something I could do about it, but there really isn't.

Maybe someone can relate to this.. sad.gif

Can't you use a slightly wider tire to help with that? I know some people do it.

My Enkei's are pretty scrapped up. Not surprising considering they have been on the car since 2001. I actually pretty rarely have to park at the kerb.. but it seems whenever I have to, I nudge it a bit and add to the rash.

My rims are pretty messed up when I bought the car, but I have yet to scrape a curb. I'm scared of them and usually end up like a foot and a half to two feet away from it. Whereas some people pull like two inches away from the curb.

depends on the width and diameter of the rim and how much of a drop the person has..... i tried to put 215's on the front on my 17x7's and with my b+g springs i get rubbing..... so i switched them to the rear.....

When I bought my Tib one or two of the rims were scraped already..probably from a curb or something. luckily, I haven't scraped any of the rims since I have had the Tib though. wink1.gif

Bahh.

Do you think if I ran on 210/40/17s maybe this would prevent this scrapage?

My car isn't lowered so I dont think I'd have any problems running on 215/40/17s, now that I think of it.

Only rubbing problems occur with lowered cars.

I'm thinking about losing the 17's sometime in the future anyway. Big wheels = PLENTY of static weight, and really downgrades your cornering.
