I looked and found nothing about it.So here it goes.

Ok i think a stickey should be made or better yet. when people post about selling stuff that one of the rules should be that they have a pic of the iteam for sale. Instead of us asking to see what it looks like or asking the person to post up a pic. iand make it so that seller must have at least 50~100 post. that way there is some form of trust and it would serve as insurance for us as well

just a thought

Yes, I think weve talked about it before even. Many forums I belong to dont even allow acces to the classifieds until either a time period or post number (sometimes both) have been achieved

I agree to the 50 posts, but a pic is overboard for small stuff. Maybe a pic of items over $100.

A minimum number of posts is a must, I hate it when people join up to sell something, and their 2nd post is a FS thread...
I don't think requiring pics above a certain price is a good idea. Either require them completely or don't require them at all. Sometimes when people have a 'garage sale' thing, pics for everything is impractical. And sometimes the item is common enough that a pic might not be necessary. And wouldn't like seeing locked FS threads simply because someone didn't post a pic. If they want to sell it, they'll usually have to post a pic anyhow, so I think it wouldn't be necessary to have it a rule that you must.

I agree, but I think there should be some exceptions. Say a user comes from another board (ie. NT) to sell a specific product for the tiburon, and can proove they are from that board (PM them on NT to double check,....) I think they should be granted access to the FS section.
But in general, I think it would be a good rule to have in place.

Another problem you have then is folks coming on, and just posting stuff for sale WHEREVER they want, because there is no For Sale section for them to use, or spamming the boards to get 50 or 100 posts.

Then they get banned, then the parts get thrown away, or given to a junkers.

I feel your pain folks, but we need a better plan. The problem being, we will have to make ANOTHER Member Type, and we are already at like 11. Then we have to explain it to every new user. You guys think I'm a dick about the Intro stuff, what do you think will happen then?

When it comes to buying an item off the forum I think common sense is the number one rule, I would never buy anything from an unknown or unreliable source such as a new member just here to sell something. What I do when I see something I want is check the members profile and look at any previous post made by them to see if they seem like the type of person worth dealing with or if they made any sales in the past and followed through with it. If you see something you want from sombody you don't trust ask if they are willing to deal with a middle man that you both trust, such as Redz this way you both send payment and item to the middle man first, or if you don't wanna go through all that ask for feedback from a higher up member that may know this person. All in all if something seems shady it usually is.
