did you do a clear or a rebuild, I did a rebuild right after I made that last post.

Nope, it was slow for me too. I cleared the shoutbox cache and now it is like lightning.

I did a clear. The rebuild just resets all the users preferences to default.

cool! We'll just have to remember to do that occasionally, sql cpu usage went from ~50% to negligible. about 1-2%. They need a way to flush out anything over a week old.
I have some Optimization tools done on HA if you guys want the code and files for here. They make HA fly like lightning with no lag at all. The arcade is a little slow once in a great while though, but thats because I have over a 100 games installed. *haha* But Java...let me know if you want what I have for HA to make RD run faster. smile.gif

We'd love it, can you PM the info to Java and Supercow?

that would be cool, really though I'm still not having any slowdown issues, seems pretty quick on my end. That one day it was a slug though. But once java cleared the shouts it was back to normal.
The only page that I'd say is slow is the main page but thats because of all the photo's hosted on photobucket.

really? when we get around to cleaning things up like we did the other day it's definitely the fastest (or at least the same speed) forum I visit, and I frequent quite a few, this is the only Hyundai forum I visit regularly though. Most of the others have substantially more visitors however.

Redz...actually...send me their emails. I'll zip up the files and send the code that way. smile.gif
HA has over 400 members per day on the site, so sometimes it can slow down a tiny bit, but not much at all. Thats why I have all the optimization done. You guys dont get that many people visiting RD on a daily basis, so you shouldnt see much slowness due to that. Once you incorporate the stuff I have done on HA, this place should be insanely quick to load.
I just gotta figure out how to make the arcade run just a little quicker now, which I think I figured out what to do last night. Plus having 10 years and thousands upon thousands of pics stored on the dedicated server that runs HA can cause some sluggishness too. *haha* I need to go through and re-categorize them all.
Do you guys have alot of queries running on the site? If you do, that can cause alot of slowness. Try to keep it between 12 and 18 if possible, on the forum index, otherwise you'll get a bit of slowness when clicking on any of the forums. Check your modifications and make sure they are all up to date and the code is compact enough to run at a good speed.
Oh, and do you guys have E-Accelerator installed or turned on, on the server that runs RD? If not, definitely look into it. Its a kick ass feature!

We have a ton of folks here a day, just not at the same time.
I don't know either of their emails off hand, I'd just PM them and ask for em, or use the email feature on the site.
Site is still pretty slow for me here at work, and at UNM, but better since the shoutbox purge.
We should close the shoutbox for a month to get posting back up, or just put it on the main page.
Nah, close it.
