How about we create a seperate section where we could post / vote on the different fluids we use in our cars from tranny fluid to coolant.
Maybe a stickie could be made for say Manual Transmission Fluid that has the top 5 recommended fluids that we had voted on.
I think it would be helpful to anyone who services their own vehicles.

There is already plenty of info on fluids, I don't really see the need for a separate section. Voting is not that helpful either as most people don't go out and try all brands and compare them..
The only one really for which the answer is not straightforward is tranny fluid, with a few threads already discussing it. Redline MT-90 seems to be the best option (another one is Royal Purple, but a few people who tried both prefer Redline, myself included)

There is plenty of info on fluids on this site but it requires searching and reading through a bunch of comments. I just thought it might be nice to have a section that lists the top fluids people currently use in their cars and are happy with.
With the tranny fluid I too have tried both and recommend only using the MT-90.
I know when it comes to oil, everyone has their favorite but it would be nice to see the top 5 that most people are happy with.
Power steering fluid is another one I am curious about since I usually use whatever might be on the shelf in my garage.
Brake fluid and coolant are others that might be useful to others.

The most popular manual tranny fluids are: Redline, Synchromesh, Royal Purple, and OEM.
For automatics, go OEM only.
For engine oil, there are several different perspectives. I use High Mileage Castrol GTX and either Mobil 1, Bosch, STEP, or K&N oil filters (whatever's on sale). Other people are very fond of Puralator
