Okay, I thought of this last year, and figured it would be fun.
I was thinking we can do another raffle, tickets would be 3 to 5 bucks a piece.
We get all the money into a paypal account or maybe in a regular bank account to acrue interest.
A month before the 2006 ABQ BBQ we have the drawing for the raffle, with all the locals here present.
The winner gets (if enough money is in the bank) a fully paid round trip ticket to the 2006 Fall ABQ BBQ in October. Any left over money goes to that person for travel expenses or to buy a round of drinks for everyone. LOL If there is NOT enough money for the ticket, the winner gets the option of contributing the final bit to get the ticket, or just getting the money itself.
If the winner is closeby or within driving distance, the money can be used for travel funds to get here and back.
We can think up some more additions to this, but if we start it now, we should be able to get a BUNCH of money saved up for the winner.
What do you guys think?

Sounds like a good plan. I think it would probably be better to have the drawing two months ahead so the winner can get a better deal on a ticket.

Ehhh, 21 days out is about the best pricing you can get. I figured a month would give enough time for folks to get leave approved and stuff too.
BUt that's up to ya'll, we can do it at whatever time interval, just remember that the closer we get to the date, the more donations that will be rolling in.
