So I finally got my prototype made for a new style shifter ring!I was talking to Redz back in June about these.I made this ring out of stainless, but the rest will be aluminum.I have a shop willing to make the first batch of 30 rings for me.If I was to go ahead and put an order in for 30 pcs,I could get them to the States for $45 usd, mounting bolts and shipping in bubble wrap envelope included.Larrs

Will they drill the holes in them? I'd be willing to spend a bit more to have some machine screws/cap screws with hex heads put into it. Even if I have to get the screws at lowes. Did they give you any hardware to bolt it down?

The oem ring is mounted from the underside with 4 sheet metal screws. All I did was use the same hole config and used m3 bolts instead.I have to drill and tap for this type of mounting.I can easily counter bore 4 holes on the top for a top mount instead.Note if you want a different hole pattern than 4,you would have to drill into the plastic cowl accordingly. The screws I used are s.s. socket hex head cap screw.I work in a machine shop so making the ring was pretty easy for me and the hardware we had in stock. The reason I'm getting someone else to do them is simply time.I have none and he has a new shop and needs the business.Larrs

I'll take one.

I'd like mine also drilled through so I have the screws exposed. Cap head screws would be awesome.

Let me know the final amount, and where to send it to.

Hello Redz! I'm feeling out orders and it's looking good.So far I have interest in polished, sand blasted, under mounted, and top mounted. All the top and bottom mounting bolts will be s.s.hex head cap screws(bolts). Now a good question will be how many counter bores do you want 4,5,6,8.?Pricing so far is for 4 bolts w/flat washer and either prepped for 4-m3 threaded hole or 4 top counter bored holes....For all who are interested I thank you for your support.Larrs

Actually these are 12 mm thick but have a notched dato type cut on the bottom I.D.(for the leather boot).4 mounting holes are drilled and tapped 10 mm into the bottom side.Larrs

I'd like to see one polished, but brushed/blasted would be kick ass too.

My ideas on this.

1. Make it top mounted, and make them mount through the current holes in the plastic base. Reason for this is simple. To install, you just take off your old boot, line up the ring on your boot and put holes through it to match the holes in the base. Put your bolt in and a nut on the bottom. Tighten, DONE. THIS way you also don't need to have any threaded holes, which would make it cost more.

2. Just 4 bolts would look wierd I think. I'd say go for 8, so they are evenly spaced, and look good.

Here are some sample pics of the last person that was going to do it, and one has 6 holes, the other has 8.

Avoid the threading of the holes, and this should be cheap and easy. Remember, folks can easily drill 4 more holes by using the new ring as a template.

Teflon I was just at your other site and I left a post for ya.Larrs

I agree with you Redz! With 6 holes YOU have to drill 6 holes into your cowl.8 holes and you have to drill 4 more holes. The flat look with hidden bolts looks clean but much more work(for us).Larrs
