why does it have a switch and a dimmer is it not using the stock bulbs?

I'm confused?

you will still need the bulbs in for the needles though.

 

They look like EL ones. If so then they would not use the stock bulbs.

 

I have same ones, but without dimmer switch. You keep your stock bulbs but everything else turns blue at night. In my case, my stock bulbs are blue LED's. Look's very nice w/ these el gauges to compliment them.
