I hate the dibs BS because I've heard dibs before yet the person PM'ed me that they couldn't pay for another 2 days or more. The site shouldn't require "dibs" as the required method of selling parts to someone.

If you don't like dibs, state in your own FS threads you won't take dibs. The Moderators & site staff are having a discussion about the rule. If you feel like you are getting screwed by somebody please report it.

The seller should reserve the right to do business with whomever they wish. I personally don't feel the staff should tell someone who they can or can't sell to.
HOWEVER... it's just common sense and proper forum etiquette to announce publicly that you call dibs, and willing to pay (or that money has been sent). This prevents 10 people from sending money for the same part. It's all part of being nice and courteous.
This isn't that hard.
