I may have a company for us!!!! Bay Speed out of California has agreed to look at my proposal and give me feedback as to if they can make them and how much.

Chris, can you give me exact dimensions of the skirts. L x W x D. I'm gonna use the pics you have posted and send it to them, they want to see it.

Also, Chris, or anyone who has these skirts, how is the fitment? They want to know because when they do reproductions, they normally like to have a car there to adjust their mold to help make it a better fit. I will not be able to take my car there as I live in Denver CO. HOPEFULLY, these fit well enough where we can just send them the originals and they can bang them out for us. If that is not the case, we will have to get creative and see if we can get someone to go up their for a day so they can see what needs to be done to insure a proper fit, or I may have to keep researching and try to find a manufacturer closer to Denver.

Chris and Mods: If this is too off topic, I can make another thread. Let me know and I will comply. cool.gif hail.gif

Keep your fingers crossed people!

Tibbytib, if you want to cover for my gas, I'll drive down to Denver, pick up the sides and stay in California for 2 weeks to give them a chance to fit the sides properly on a rd1 tongue.gif As long as I'm back before january 21st! lol

My fingers are still crossed and just to be clear, these original King sides for sale in this topic are sold to you? Is it confirmed?

As far as I know, If we/I can get these reproduced, they will go to me. Thats a fantastic offer man! Where do you live? Once Chris gets back to me, I can send off the specs to Bay Speed and see what they can do. If its a go, maybe the 5- 10 members who want these made can all pitch in for your fuel. It may be easier for you to simply drive there and "meet" the side skirts in Cali.

we'll talk more here in the next few days. Keep an eye on your in-box and this thread....

Chris, If you see this man, PM me those specs so I can get the ball rolling on these. Thanks Man!

Edit: holy crap dude! You're from canada?!?! Thats gonna be a heafty gas bill!!! Lets see how things unfold. Your offer is still on the table, but I hate to ask a member who lives more than twice the distance to cali than I do to make a special trip just to get these fitted. I will still keep you in mind though. Thats a generous offer man, really, Thanks!!!

I've been trying to get everything boxed up all week. I wont have exact dimensions on the skirts until I'm back at the factory boxing them up. Here's the deal on why the king skirts were never put into production, and why you WILL need a car there. They're flimsy thin FG, and they dont fit without really pushing the limits of the Fiberglass. They're a bit too short, by like a millimeter. Which means when you have the front of the skirt in the right position, the rear is a very tight fit, and you can hear the FG crackling when you force them into place. So to save you time, this is what I needed to do if I was to put them into production.

1. Get a car to work with for a couple weeks.

2. Extend the skirts by a tiny bit

3. Build up the Fiberglass extra thick, so that they skirt stays rigid when you pick it up.

4. Mold it and check fitment on the new production piece.

I didn't have a car to donate to get these installed on until recently. I have a set of WideBody shark fenders, and I figured I'd just have those done and the king skirts done at the same time, then mold both once the prep work was done. Now I'm selling off that RD2, as well as all the parts. So I've wasted tons of cash in storage just to keep all these parts that I'm never going to do anything with now. I could, but I'm over it, I'd rather just get cash in the hands of the people I owe it to. I'm sure I'm not the ONLY guy who can produce new parts for you guys, I just might have been the only one dumb enough to.

lmao.gif eeeee yup I'm from Canada, Montral to be exact! Just about 2200 miles from Denver to be more precise.

I've been on a road trip once to Denver, actualy Coper mountain in Summit county, me and my friend drove 24h strait, a little over the speed limit... tongue.gif I loved it and I've always wanted to drive down to California with my tib... why not kill 2 birds with one stone! wink1.gif I'm off until january 21st, than it's back to school time!

Kinda shows how much I really want a set of those sides!

Sorry for the off topic.

Mailbox is cleared out now, sorry about that. Holidays filled it up smile.gif OK guys, I've spent a few hours boxing up all the parts so I can get accurate shipping estimates. I did it this way so that the same day I get payments including shipping, I can follow up with tracking numbers and have them shipped and done with the same or next day. Until I have the weight and dimensions of the box with parts packed up already, I dont want a dime. I have to pay off all the CF Cowl people off, get an LSD, a VDI kit, and refund a full bodykit. So I gotta make sure the second I get paid for these parts, I send out refunds. I wont make a dime out of this, but if I can get you guys paid back, then I'll get to sleep easy.
