Damaged, how?

As for knowing the surrounds on the RD are the same for the Auto and the Stick.. I have seen enough of those aluminum dash "kits" that show all the pieces.. they only show one piece for the shifter surrouned.. Also in my Workshop manual, it looks suspeciously similar... and that is an awfully BIG hole the shifter pops out of.

No they are NOT the same
The Manual has 4 screw holes to hold the plastic part of the shift boot to go onto.
I suppose you can ghetto rig it and hot glue the shift boot or something, but trust me, THEY ARE NOT the same

does not matter to me if they are or not then... I am modding mine to fit a surround from a second gen... so even if it is an auto surround.. I can still use it.
