Dude, even If I sell my tib when it's finished, I won't sell it for more than $8,000. Don't get me wrong, that's a nice looking Tib, but don't expect to get 12k+ for it.

First thing socks just becasue i don't post please dont judge someones intelligence. I have worked on more boosted, drag, stock cars than most of the people on this site put together. Now Socks im not bashing you at all so dont take it that way. Second ,wow a body kit yea, flawless paint another big wow. I mean serious who here cant find a 99 tibby right now for $500-$1000 and put $2000 in body and paint, i know i can . I bought my 98 for $250 and serious i could have fixed it but i desided to part the whole car and make some extra cash. But Fine on any given Sunday and maybe on a good Friday id give ya $5000 and thats being nice . fing02.gif

^^ SOCKS. I was talking about the P&P job alone. If I look around in Chicago, my town, I bet I can get a GOOD P&P for like $250. The valves are another story, as is the planing. But when you get your head worked don't they plane it anyways? I bought my tib with 85k miles for 3 grand. And it was stock. The body work on the car is flawless, it looks good, but I mean seriously... Majik was selling his car for abound 12 with a REAL Veilside kit, amazing paint, one of the best looking tibs ever in my opinion. Not to mention the performance aspect and the hours into it. He didn't get a buyer.

99_tiburon: Before this thread get's out of hand I seriously recommend this. Not being mean. Abondon this thread, get it closed, whatever. Think of a more realistic price. Post what kind of body kit you have and who it's from. IE: Invader kit from ebay, whatever. Tell what kind of paint you put on it, HOK, PPG, whatever. Tell in detail all the performance parts you have. What kind of rims. What kind of tires. Hell, go down to the battery! But really man, just rethink the price. Would you buy this for 13 thousand dollars when you could get a few thousand more dollars and buy a brand new tib?

New Tiburon. Starting at 16,695 MSRP.

Hum... If I had 13 grand for a car, I'd have to admit I'd get a 99 Tib, but not this one...

I'd wait for the "Beta 3" engine to come out, then put that in the car... Plus some other work naturally...

just my 2 cents, but yea, you're not getting your asking price. Your car, despite what you think, is not worth that much.

i think socks wasnt talking about you hyundai cruz, i mean c'mon from all signs this guy has very lil mech knowledge of his car, and like you ive worked on a lot of different cars. drag, street, turboed, etc... so i know my fair share of knowledge. but even on my dumbest, drunkest days i know what a rod is when you talk cars.

Well just to be the voice of reason, im sure he associated ''rods'' with "pushrods" that our cars dont have because we have DOHC (durrr), instead of conrods.

Not to say that's smart thinking, im just sure thats where his confusion came from, along with some noob-ness.

because when you think peanut butter, you'd better think jelly; so when you hear piston, you should think con rod, and if you see "pistons & rods" you should NOT think "pistons and pushrods"

Ehh, some of you guys missed a few things.

QUOTE (99_tiburon @ Aug 22 2007, 09:23 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

The car has 86,000 kms, Please serious buyers only asking price is 12,900 or trade for suv or year round vehicle.

KMS. That's Kilometers. Probably means he's NOT in the USA. So, considering his location field, I'm assuming he's in Ontario Canada.

So that's Canadian funny money.

So...

86,000 km = 53,437.922 mi

Not bad.

As for cost...

12,900.00 CAD = 12,233.11 USD

That's still about 2 times as much as it should be.

Hey 99 Tiburon, let's put it this way. A guy in El Paso has one of the most famous RDTiburons in the world, if not THE most famous. It's got 28,000 miles on it, 2 engines, both turbocharged, and does 10 second 1/4 miles. He's selling it for $9000 and hasn't gotten any bites.

So, it doesn't matter what you want to charge, it's what folks will pay. Modified cars don't mean MORE MONEY BACK, it means less.

According to Kellys Blue Book, and keep in mind that I put on every option, rounded your miles down to 53000, and put excellent condition...

Condition Value

Excellent
$5,435

Good
$5,000

Fair
$4,445

So.

To make money, take off the non OEM parts and sell them. Then sell the car. You still won't make anything near $12K

No one here is being an asshole, just telling it like it is. If you don't like it, don't post.
