i don't know if Jbizut has a fake or not. I haven't seen it in person. I'm hoping he didn't get screwed by thinking he was buying a real one and not getting it. I apologize if I was harsh on claiming it was fake... it used to piss me off about fake kits, now I just wish people knew what they were getting. I also realize that cameras make fitment and other things look much worse than they are in person.

I will tell you that I've personally seen these fake body kits at car shows. I have seen IN PERSON how horrible they fit. I've had well over 10 people e-mail me after seeing my car on CarDomain and asking me how in the world I made mine fit. There are several websites that I have FOUGHT HARD with trying to get them to take MY PICTURES off of their site. They use pictures of my car to sell fake body kits.

A guy from Florida e-mailed me after buying a body kit from a website, thinking he was getting a real Veilside body kit. They used my pictures to show how well the body kit fits. He said that he paid a body shop $1200 just to make it fit (not including paint). For the price he paid, he could have bought the real one.

You can buy the kit if you want. Just because it's an online store and sells the body kit through a website doesn't mean it's any better than an EBay seller. Who knows, it may be the same person!

Be careful. If you get screwed, don't come crying to us. If you want to take a risk with $700, go ahead, but you'll probably end up buying the real thing in the end.

You get what you pay for. If you want a show car, BUILD A SHOW CAR. Don't take short cuts. If you aren't building a show car, I would highly suggest AGAINST the Veilside kit... it's very low to the ground and sticks out far from the front bumper, making it extremely easy to scrape.

On the other hand.... I was at a car show last weekend and had a guy ask me to come to the parking lot to show me his 2001 Tiburon. He bought a fake Veilside body kit, but the poor guy wasn't aware that it was a fake. I don't think he knew who Veilside was... but the bumper fit very nicely... still has some obvious blemishes and gaps, but it bolted up at least. As far as the quality is, I have no clue. I guess we'll find out after he starts scraping; it was freshly installed, not even painted yet. I have also seen fake bumpers that still have the Veilside emblem embossed on it... all that means is the mold was made with a bumper that had the logo on it. Who knows if the mold used for the EBay kit was a 1st generation mold (from an original bumper) or if it was made from a COPY of a COPY of a COPY of the original (3rd or 4th gen mold).

Buyer... BEWARE!!

I feel bad for you Majik. If I were you, I'd sell your kit. Way too many people have that kit and the originality of the kit has finally lost.

You probably can't sell it as much as when you bought it, but at least you'll get some money out of it....maybe. sad.gif

have you noticed my sideskirts and rear bumper? They're kinda permanently fixed onto the car nana.gif

I'd like to go with a different bumper, but I don't know of one that would be as low as this one (it'd look funny with low sideskirts and a high front bumper)

He's not a complete idiot, he's just a kid trying to work on his car. He took the BETTER of 2 copied kits and installed it. It's still CRAP though. He installed it best he could, but fact is, COPIED KITS ARE almost ALWAYS crap.

There is a reason Veilside body kits are so expensive. They used to be widely popular (before so many copy-kits came out) because of their design and durability. Now, with sooo many copies, the name has pretty much become worthless. It used to be an elite type of body kit, costing $2500+... now you can get it for $1500-1800. They are high quality, but with everybody having fakes, it's no longer unique. mad.gif

I think I had mine before copy kits started coming out... but I can't remember. I've had mine about 3 years.

I dont feel bad for majik. He's got it done right. "So many people" have knock offs. Negative. I have YET to see a Veilside Tiburon in Florida.... or anywhere for that matter. I just seem them online.

Also, if you buy Ebay kit, I punch you in the nads. chairshot.gif
