dude, the computer is nothing special. gateway will send something better for $400 to my door right now. The HD is a good one, the rest of the parts are around 3-6 year old technology But you MUST remember, a computer looses 1/2 value when you open the box.

I'll give you $200 shipped for the computer.

 

ok doubt it, whats the gateways got in them intels, amd is faster that intels i dont see any gateway being faster than what i got in this you couldnt find a system with a xp 2400+ amd for anywhere around $400, and if you want to go 1/2 price then thats about $400 with todays prices of the parts i got in here.

 

^^ First off, your computer lost exactally 1/2 value as soon as you put it together and used it. Now we're talking about 6 years of depreciation today.

your XP2400+ chip was made 5 years ago. 5 years ago the athalon was ALOT faster then the pentium. That's why your chip says + at the end. It's about a 1.6GHZ chip that performs as well as an intel 2.4GHZ chip durring certain tests.

the lowest NEW gateway has a 2.6GHZ processor in them which outperforms a XP2600+ chip. yours is 5 years old mang.

PC2100 ram was the first type available for DDR which came out at the turn of the century.

The G-Force 440 MX is 6 years old now, relatively useless for any modern gaming

Most large businesses throw away computers after that long, or they give them to a computer recycling program for $50, i think $150 is pretty generous for a 6 year old item which has a 5 year life expectancy.

Ill comment on the computer just because i think it needs to be said.
1. No im sorry this computer is no longer worth that much money sorry but computers do lose value semi fast.
2. No Gateway will no send a computer to your door that is as fast as that one for 400 dollars. what they will do i send you a computer marked at faster speed with a crap motherboard onboard vid and sound and enough built in gateway spyware in the os to make the comps speed drop.
3.even with that being said that computer by guess should be sold for around $350
or less as proccessor is old not slow but yes outdated.
the memory is both slow and out dated the video card is a joke. as onboard video on some board can almost achieve that cards ability these days.

Asking 600 for that computer is just insane.
and as far as offering to copy dvds. that is illegal and surely against forum rules!
