For sale:
<strike>1 set of RD1 reverse EL gauges with blue needles looks just like this:

edit: $130 + shipping i forgot to include the price of parts.
The gauges are fully calibrated gauranteed it works, and ready for swapping right into your vehical. I'll set the odometer for you, so you can retain your origonal reading.
these gauges work PERFECTLY in RD1 or RD2 vehicals.
external switch to turn it off if you want with inverter included.
</strike>
I also have a set of RD1/RD2 Blue LED backlit needles ready to go out as a DIY kit. Looks just like the ones in the picture. Just the needles and the plastic behind with 16 super-bright blue LEDs to light them up. Needles are painted blue with a special blend of hyundai cobalt blue and white pearl for more reflectivity. Needles are cross-thatched to reflect more light at the user.
$30 + shipping
^^^ this is an excelent deal for someone who wants to do a bit of work, i'm only selling it for just above cost of parts. Just trying to get rid of it.
And some RD2 EL gauges, not reverse el, but the entire back area glows blue or green. I don't have pix yet. It's black lettering/numbering on white background. At night it's blue/green background with black lettering.
$30 + shipping
If you want pix, I'll post them.

no. they're lit from 1MM behind the needles. Like tibby01s glow needle mod, but with about 6 more LEDs then he used to use, custom cobalt blue(LE) w/ pearl, cross thatched reflective needles. Means, great color and alot brighter then most needle mods. You can run EL gauges full bright and the needles aren't dimmer then the gauges.
I don't have any night pix of them yet, but they're brigter then any blue needles you've seen on this site.
I tried to do a in-needle setup with these LEDs, but i ran into problems making a slip-ring. They don't work like that. Even if it did, i'd have problems keeping it consistant at all times.
here's some pix of the RD1 cluster when i was putting it together. I forgot i had these
This is what i have for you.

and an x-ray picture

The glow needle DIY kit includes some clear plastic pieces behind the needles which you just replace with the stock ones, and the blue needles themselves. You just need to pull the faces, remove 9 screws, replace the plastics, solder a couple of wires, put the faces back on, and then the needles.

The EL gauges are black on white durring the day and black on blue or green at night.

I have one calibrated ready to go set of gauges. I have a diy needle kit and a set of RD2 EL gauges.
I keep getting PMs. if you want something, Dibs it, if not, ask your questions in this forum. that's what it's here for.
The gauges are direct swap, RD1/RD2. You can use them in either.

The only thing you cannot use in a RD1 vehical here is the RD2 EL gauges.

remember though man, the clear plastic peices are not exactly interchangeable between rd1 and rd2. you will have to do some trimming between the two because they are shaped slightly different.
