Actally, most refurbished items have much less of a chance of going bad.
They've been out, used, had a problem, get fixed and re checked all over, and sold for cheaper, with usually the same or better warranty.
I own a lot of refurb stuff, never have had a failure. Some expensive stuff too like my LCD TV>
