Funky, I have your package here. The USPS won't let you ship a box that had something else in it (in this case, I used a box that a new dish drainer we bought came in), unless it's wrapped in brown paper. The paper I put yours in got completely torn off and shredded by the sorting equipment or conveyors (this is what they told me at the main ABQ sorting station). They have a pile of boxes with all the paper removed, and I had to tell them which it was, and what was inside it, before they'd open it and confirm. Then I had to fill out paperwork.

Friggin paperwork.

it should go back out tomorrow.

 

wow, thats crazy. Sorry about all the hassle. with Canada Post I have never had that type of issue. I reuse boxes every time I ship something, and have never used brown paper or never had my box opened.
anyways, let me know once its shipped.

It's something that the USPS started about 6 to 8 months ago. I guess folks were putting shipping labels on Xbox 360 and PS3 boxes, and sending them out like that, so they were getting "Lost" by the postal service, even if it was just the reused boxes. So now they want them wrapped in brown paper if it's not just a plain cardboard box.

Fedex WON'T ship stuff with paper on it, as it gets caught in their conveyors and ripped off.

Everyone is different I guess.
