Re: No time to wait.... *NSFW - Work Warning*
I've had it with this car. I fixed the alternator yesterday. The car worked for about 3 hours and then yet ANOTHER short in the system. I give up on this. Im looking to get $2,800. Here is the info.
1995 Hyundai Elantra GLS with a 4g63t engine.
This engine has about 5,000 miles on it after a complete rebuild. It has the stock 1G DSM turbo setup. 14b with a SMIC. Also has a walbro 190 fuel pump that is already rewired directly from the battery with larger gauge wire.
The problems with this car. The electrical short that keeps killing it. And a leak at the top of the fuel tank. So you cant fill it all the way up. I usually took it down to E and put 8 gallons in it. It has boost creep and a boost leak somewhere. And the tach doesn't work. I didnt feel like rewiring it.
Pics can be seen at the cardomin site in my sig. You gotta pick it up because it obviously doesnt run. If it doesnt sell I may just part it out.

Re: NOT SAFE FOR WORK THREAD!
ooh Dweet, i'm sorry to hear that...
maybe another option would be to purchase a 2k accent for real cheap and just transfer the turbo over and work on that. but then you have still lost on the elantra...
with all of the time and work you've spent on the elantra, it's a shame it doesn't do the same back

Re: used center console
so this engine has 5k?? how about the whole car? how much does it have on it.
as far as the electrical problem, do you just think it's a wire grounding somewhere?

Re: more o2 problems!! (besides slipstreams)
the chasis has 96k on it. im 100% sure its a wire grounding somewhere. im just sick of putting time and money into this car and i need something reliable.
let me add the ECU is an EPROM and it has a TMO stage 3 EPROM in it.
www.techomotive.com is where the chip comes from.
Here is where you can view its details
