Those prices are not too high. As far as your own shop goes, you really need to start out doing arts & crafts shows. Build it from there. Actually, once you open a shop you will probably want to keep doing arts & crafts shows to keep your head above water.

My mother is starting out this year doing arts & crafts shows, and when I can find the time to work on my own projects I'll be joining her selling my wares. I never would have considered it until I found out how BIG this stuff really is. There are hundreds of A&C shows in our state, and if we attend all the big ones we'd be out 30 weekends a year and in front of over 2,000,000 people. Based on sheer numbers alone, you should do well. Problem is, almost all of the shows are juried, which means they have to see your work and accept you in, because there is a huge waiting list to get into shows. It could take a few years of entering to finally be accepted into some shows.

Your craft is perfect for that kind of event.

Just an idea.

i know what you mean by "may have to wait for years before you can get in." a local metalsmith friend of mine, she makes BEAUTIFUL and very spiritual-related metal scultpures and for 15 years she tried to get into renissaince festival, it was just 2 years ago she finally got accepted. i was really surprised to see her with her shop all set up when i walked by lol.

thanks for the idea though, but i'd have to have alot more money and buy alot more materials to make a whole closet-full of jewelries laugh.gif

Baby steps... That would be easier to pull off than your own shop. fing02.gif

sent you a PM!

day bump! if you would like to recieve them before Mother's day, there's next-day speed delivery, charging at $17. now with my "free-shipping" offer, (that is for standard shipping) i'll take $5 off that charge, so your shipping/handling charge will be $12.

last time i did the speed-delivery, the package reached the desination in 2 days from the day i sent it out, so hurry and order fast! wink1.gif fing02.gif
