Hey all, I'm new to the forum. Trying to get a feel for whether my car is worth fixing or not.

2001 rd2 Manual trans
Red Ext, Black Int (good condition)
power everything but no sunroof
93k origional miles on ticker
clear title, no accidents.

This car ran fine when I first bought it from my friend's fiance. The next day it wouldn't start. I took it to the shop and they said that from sitting for so long and starting it up that it spun a rod bearing and messed up the bottom end so there is currently no compression in cylenders 3 and 4. I want to fix the car but at the moment I'm a broke joke and have no money to do so. I'm posting it up on here for offers. I paid 2200 for the car rendering me a broke ass. Let me know if you have interest! The car looks good! Needs a bottom end.

 

if you were closer to me, i'd pick it up from you.

sounds strange about the spinning the bearing thing. i would check into it further.

like i said in your introduction post, you could probably get a replacement engine for around 200-250$.

also, the Exterior doesn't quite look red to me.. lmao.gif lmao.gif

 

its a poor picture...im goin to take better ones if there is real interest. If i had the 250 to put a motor in it i would but i was just laid off so i need to make some of my cash back asap. Selling the car is my last option. Trust me, I love the car, its in very good shap and i do not want to part with it.

TO be honest I really dont know what I should get for it. I know if i fixed it, similar cars around 93k in the same condition go for about 3500 around here. I want to spend the 250.00 for the motor, fix it and get the money for it but like i said, I cant even come up with that haha. I paid 2200, I think given that it doesnt run and needs a short block but still in good costmetic condition, 800-1000 would be fair. Correct me if i'm wrong.

oh and im about 3 hours away from pittsburg, im just east of harrisburg.

 

hmm i may be interested if you want to get rid of it for 800-1000 bucks, and you said the car is red?

Ive been feeling a few offers and it seems a few people are saying its worth more like 1200-1500 since its a lower mileage 01. Im going to stick with 1000 obo since it needs a wheel bearing, 1 wheel and tires for inspection.
