And a lot of the time you see a higher shipping cahrge is because they charge less for the part itself. It's to make people think they are getting the item cheaper when in reality they are paying the same price.

^^^ which is total bullshit if you ask me. oh, oh, oh... "i found a 90 dollar part on ebay for 20 bux!" but fvck i got charged 70 bucks in shipping when it specifically says $5.68 to ship the item right on the damn box. yup, been there, done that. it wasnt to that extreme, but you get my drift. yeah, the guy has 100% feedback which has me thinking about "playing the game."

guys, i've literally sent thousands of dollars and very heavy weighted items through UPS and the shipping fees on ebay anymore are just through the roof. call me old school, but dont sugarcoat a item with a cheap price and then nail the unsuspected with a higher shipping cost is what i am saying.

lmao, wow, all of this over a CAI.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Q:how many cost the shipping from puerto rico 00736
A: extra $59.99. total for shipping will be $89.98. thanks, mojoboy65</div>

THAT is a ripoff!!!! $90 to ship a CAI to PR!?!?!?!?!? UPS, FEDEX and especially USPS consider PR a state (its a US territory). It does NOT cost that much to ship an item that size. mad.gif

It's actually more to avoid eBay's Final Value Fees. Ebay charges a percentage of the selling price before shipping.

Some of you guys don't pay attention.

The price for this auction is whatever it ends out to be.

PLUS $29 for shipping.

PLUS $49 for insurance.

That is total BULLSHIT. $29 for shipping for the item, I can understand and accept, the box is not exactly small, and with insurance and such, handling, okay, I can handle $29, but an extra $49 for insurance?

UPS COMES WITH INSURANCE. FEDEX GROUND COMES WITH INSURANCE. Insurance through USPS would be what, $6 for $200 coverage???

He's done the same pricing scheme for all of his auctions.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...em=300279820484

$49 insurance for a GAUGE???

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (oddwayne @ Dec 21 2008, 12:30 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>like socks says, with 100 percent good feedback he is a more than likely a trusted seller on ebay. Though is is unfair and a little annoying to have to pay for high shipping and insurance fees it is not the sellers problem but your . Just don't bid! And how would one know if they would not be getting their product? Does anyone here no this seller personally I think not. And thanks silver bullet for the link!</div>

So, if I go start a new Ebay account, and buy items from it with my other accounts, so I have a few hundred sales and 100% good feedback, I'm a good seller?

How would one know they wouldn't get their product?

DUH... You don't pay for insurance, why should he send the item? It's an old con, but it's still a con. Follow me.

1. I buy the item, pay for shipping, but don't pay for insurance because it's a ripoff and I know paypal has my back.

2. I wait for 3 weeks, but the item never shows up. I contact the seller, he says it shipped but that he can't do anything since I didn't pay for insurance.

3. I file a paypal complaint, paypal contacts him, and he has no tracking information. He shows that you didnt' buy insurance, so he's off the hook as USPS doesn't have tracking numbers unless you ship Express mail.

4. I am now screwed out of money because I didn't want to be extorted.

If you don't pay the insurance, the guy has no reason at all to send the item, has just made a profit for free, and resells the item until someone pays.

Right, which is against the rules with Paypal and Ebay. That's why you file a complaint for excessive shipping and the like.

update...

received the CAI exactly as posted, everything new and in brand new condition. I figured since i didnt pay for the extra INSURANCE ,lol, it would come all scratched up and nothing seperated, no packing. i was wrong! the tube took me damn near 10 minutes to get all the bubble wrap off of and the rest of the box a vast amount of packing peanuts in it. I guess in the end he will be getting good feedback from me and will be put on my good seller list, that is all.
